22 of 26

I'm amazed by the bizarro mirror-image "Connor" up there in the corner. How did he do that?

Fancy Fingerpainting

Where is the corner? This one came home laminated, and apparently the corner got folded over before going through the machine. I can't imagine Chloe enjoyed making this- she can't stand to have messy hands!

La Flor

Connor made this flag in Spanish class yesterday, and he was pretty proud of it.

Letter and Shape Trees

This is:
A tree with a triangle on top
A tree with a square on top
A tree with a letter A on top
A tree with a letter B on top
(The artist titled this one himself.)

Collaboration

Connor has a very distinct coloring "style." Nothing should ever be one solid color. I have learned to adopt this style when coloring with him, as I did here. I'll be you can't tell where one artist ends and the other begins!

What About Chloe?

You won't see a ton of Chloe's work here, because it all pretty much looks the same. Most of the stuff she brings home from school looks kind of like this:

Her input is really minimal. Occasionally she's really proud of something she brings home, though. When she is, I'll be sure and include it here.

He Loves the Stencils

I know he just puts the stencil down and gets to work, but I love how that lookes like a little Oedipal note to Dad at the bottom.

A Virtual Refrigerator Door

Our house is lousy with "art" the children have created. It is stacked high on tables and counters. It has been framed and hung in galleries as exclusive as my office and the kids' bathroom. And copious amounts have been thrown away.

In an effort to manage the daily barrage of new pieces, two display areas have been set up in our home: one is a cork board above Connor's bed, and the other is the refrigerator door. The latter sees the most action, with pieces rotating in and out daily. From now on that rotation will include a stop at the scanner, so that I can recreate the fridge door for you here. Enjoy!

Family Portrait

That's Connor in red, Chip in green, me in orange, and Chloe in purple.
