The inspiration and the execution.

Chloe's Triangle

Chloe brought this home from school and I said, enthusiastically, "Chloe! What is this!?" She proudly replied, "My triangle!" "That's wonderful!" I gushed. "High five!" Chloe slapped my hand and ran off, grinning, as Connor called from the other room, "Mom, are you just saying that? That's not really good. Are you just saying it is to keep Chloe from crying?" I explained to him that it is good- it's good that she knows it's a triangle, and good that most of the coloring is concentrated somewhat inside the triangle. This is good work for a two-year old! But Connor wasn't having it. He clearly feels that my praise of his art has been cheapened now that he knows I'll hand out high-fives over a mess like Chloe's triangle. My boy has high standards.

Rocket-Powered Monster Truck

Before our recent trip, I hit the dollar aisle at Target to find something that might occupy the kids in the car. I bought Connor a Kung Fu Panda notepad and one of those pens with a dozen different ink choices. (When I was a kid, there were only four colors on those!) He doodled the entire trip. What a great $2 investment!

Me & C

This scan is horrible, despite multiple attempts. But this is me and Connor standing near the rainbow he and Grammy saw the other day. For some reason, Connor is blue and pink in this picture and the scanner didn't pick it up well.

Wikki Stix

Beth got Connor these awesome Wikki Stix for his birthday. We've had a lot of fun designing with them. Many of the creations are too three-dimensional to scan, but this sculpture of Chip was life-like in its thinness so it scanned pretty well.

A Car!

This might be the first one that didn't need an explanation!

But I do need to tell you- the lines on the side of the car? Those are flames, like the kind you might have painted on your car at Ramone's Custom House of Body Art Shop.

What Do I Know?

This is from the same painting session. I feel this is obviously the faucet on our kitchen sink, but Connor says it's a hook.

Flattery

I drew a heart and he copied it. He also copied my flowers, although you can only see his in this post.

Mixing It Up

This is a small section of a much larger piece. But you get the idea.
